Lumiere Cashmere Foundation: A Pleasant Surprise

Comments

I love Cashmere! I'm waiting for a sale to stock up on it. I'm currently testing out Luminesse because my skin is a bit drier at the moment (I know that I should try Flawless Finish, but I'm worried that the squalane in the formula will break me out). I remember reading that Kim formulated Cashmere to be equivalent to Veena Velvet in terms of coverage, but most people (including me) find it a bit lighter in coverage.

By the way, I don't think that Veena Velvet has been discontinued - it's still in the dropdown menus for the foundation shades that I checked.
You look amazing in the Cashmere Formula! I think I tested it a while ago and found that I needed more coverage, but you are making me want to re-visit. Is this the one that the colors are a shade darker than the other formulas?
Oh okay, my bad, so they still have VV! Cashmere is really amazing, I really love the finish and the texture. Does Lumiere have sales at all? I don't remember it having sales.
Thanks Ruby! I agree that Cashmere is really light-medium coverage, I think I would be using it if I have generally good skin. I love how light it feels and looks, though, so it would be perfect for summer here. I am sure it's Luminesse that has shades darker than the rest; I read it on the Lumiere forum.
Lumiere does have sales (the last one was in November), but I always seem to miss them. Kim posted on the Lumiere Addicts Delphiforum that there's a spring collection coming soon, so maybe she'll have a sale with the release of that collection. I hope so, because Jade and I are waiting for the next sale to stock up on foundation!

After I read your post I went and washed off my MMU and did a half face of my Cashmere Lt-Med Golden, it was definitely too sheer for me, I have too many things to cover up for this one! I still love my FF though. Thanks for the shade advice re: Luminesse, I never tried that one b/c I don't like a glowy finish.

I don't like a glowy finish either, so I doubt if I'd be trying Luminesse. Did you use Cashmere wet? I used the damp brush method and it makes the coverage a little heavier.

No, I totally forgot to try it damp! I'll try again tomorrow!

Lumi's Cashmere is my HG! I love it! I apply it both dryish' in the summer, and "wet" in the winter and both finishes are great! I need to order a full size soon, I'm running out of my two travel size jars and yeah I don't think Kim has sales often, hopefully she will soon, and I'm eager to find out about the "new" formula she has in the works:)

Wow, you look fabulous! Btw, that's a lot of Starbucks you two had! Lol. Frappuccinos? :)
You were actually the very first one who made me interested in Cashmere, because I remember you said it was your HG and that you were staying away from Joppa because of the kaolin ingredient. :) Thanks for the heads-up!
I don't like glowy finishes either, but I ordered a sample of Luminesse just fun with my last order. As I mentioned before, I'm currently testing it. Personally, I'm not finding it that glowy, though I have been using a lot of silk powder as finishing powder (gotta get through the EDM stuff so I can get something that's not so scratchy). Supposedly Luminesse runs a shade darker than the other foundation formulas but I completely forgot that when I ordered. It turns out that I can wear the same shade in Luminesse as I do in Cashmere (Medium-Deep Golden) and it's just fine on me and doesn't look too dark.
Right back at ya birthday girl! LOL I actually ordered a mocha frappucino but they had a new variant out that day - the iced honey latte. The barista was nice enough to give us generous samples - and we liked it better than the drinks we ordered! So I chucked the frap and drank the whole iced honey latte sample. =D It has less calories as well!
Thanks for the info! It sounds lovely, however, Luminesse does have avena sativa, correct? If so, then I guess it's not for me. =(
I just checked and yup, Luminesse does have that ingredient. That's too bad that you can't try it :(
